A surprising question............... but it is a
reality, in Europe, early footballs were made out of animal bladder especially,
inflated pig’s bladders. Later, leather covering were introduced to keep their
shape.
In 1851, Richard Lindon and William Gilbert, both shoemakers, exhibited
both round and oval-shaped balls at the Great Exhibition in London.
Charles
Goodyear in 1855 exhibited a spherical football, with an exterior of vulcanized
rubber panels in an Exhibition at the Paris. Today’s football mostly made up of leather or
plastic and filled with air.
